Special Edition with Mily Make-Up from Paris

This is Catharina, 18 years old from Wädenswil but originally from Munich. She is a true fashion addict who wants to become a doctor one day. She reads a lot of blogs, spends hours on tumblr and loves to get inspired by street styles. She loves being fashionable and we agree with that!

Mily used her famous Mily Eyeflashes for Catharina’s make-up! These sticker lashes are available only at G.POINT!

I asked her to describe G.point in three words:
“Stylish, Fun, Young”

What she loved most about the Stylish Saturday with Mily:
- Make-up done by a professional make-up artist like Mily
- To be the model in a professional photoshoot
- That the team was so friendly and helpful (thank you! :-) )
- That she got styled from head to toe in G.POINT
- And basically everything else too, she said!

Catharina loved the shorts most of her outfit and she said that she will most likely get them with the voucher that she won!

And she also wants these bad-ass Jeffrey Campbells!

ICS Runway Fashion Show by G.point

Two weeks ago we had the honour to provide our clothes and accessories from G.POINT for the ICS PROJECT RUNWAY Fashion Show! Our team picked great styles for the young fashion-addicted students and did a great job organizing the dressers and everything that happening behind the scenes.

A look behind the scenes before the show!

Silvia, our back-stage G.POINT manager, loved the event. She found it quite challenging dressing everyone in time, have them in the right place and not loose the overview. But she managed everything perfectly, so no need to be nervous! :-) She loved the back-to-the-teens vibe and was impressed by how good these young girls knew how to walk on the catwalk. Silvia kept the girls calm and focused – such a great help! Thank you, Silvia!

Raoul, the hardest worker behind the scenes, was the stylist of the show, picking every outfit and making sure everything was perfect before the girls left to go on the catwalk. Thank you, Raoul, for your crazy cool looks and hard work!

He said the biggest challenge was to present the S/S12 G.POINT collections in just 15 different looks. His goal was to show the audience that one person can wear many different styles and shouldn’t be shy to try new looks!

I met all the young models myself and had a little chat with two of them:

Loli, 14, from Zollikerberg told me this was her first fashion show she ever walked. She loved the fact that she could try on so many different clothes, walk on the big catwalk and that she got professional make-up. She fell in love with a blue clutch she was carrying during the show. One day, she wants to be working in the fashion business. We wish you all the best, Loli! 

Elise, 13, half Norwegian/half German, was really excited about the show. She was a bit nervous about all the people who were going to be watching her walk in those high heels, but girl, we can say: You did an amazing job! She really wants the peach jeans she was wearing! (Mum, a note to you ;-) ) And she loved the looks picked by the G.POINT team a lot!

Style Spy

This week we picked Mahara, 30 - DJane from Zurich. We visited her at Plaza where she practices mixing her tunes and, once a month she has her ClubSandwich Parties there!!

Here is what she has to say:

My most treasured piece…  are my boots that I bought in Paris for 30 euros! I have repaired them already a few times, but i think their expiry date has arrived! Can’t detach!

One of my biggest fashion regrets is… that mostly I am embarrassed years later… Especially when I see old pictures of my different hair styles, I crack myself up with laughter! :-)

I love Zurich… because of its European charm, architecture, the large offer of bars, restaurants and shops plus the luxury of having the lake/river where one can swim in summer! Not to mention the possibility of biking safely through the city. People should appreciate much more the high standard of living that Zuerich offers!

Good parties are… hard to find! That is why I loooove to play at private parties, small bars or on the rooftops of Zurich. These are always the best parties… :-)

I don’t understand… why people try so hard to be cool – don’t they understand that coolness has nothing to do with your looks or your clothes? It’s about your personality, about being yourself and being REAL!

 Mahara is wearing stockings from Fogal, sweater and shorts by H&M, earrings from a flea market in Italy, and boots, also from a flea market in Berlin.

How did you hear about our blog?
Someone in the store asked me if I knew the blog and if I wanted to participate as a model in Stylish Saturday.

Where do you shop besides G.point?
I really like American Apparel, Zara etc. It’s in the mix, you know! I usually do a day trip to Milano though. Because there are so many undiscovered designers and great choice!

Where do you get inspired? How do you find out about the latest trends?
I watch a lot of tv series and shows, read the latest magazines, check out fashion blog like yours and the internet is full of inspirations… You just have to seek for the pearls.

Nadia goes Neon!

Let us introduce Nadia! Why does she look familiar? She has also been our we heart your style girl, last week! A true G.lover! Nadia, age 21, studies law at the University of Zürich, is also a jewelry designer (by nk designs) and a blogger. Certainly a busy girl!!! 

Nadia was styled by G.point and got her hair, nails and make-up done by the PerfectHair.ch team! We dolled her up in funky NEON, a must have this summer!

1. What inspired you last Saturday?
I learned that the neon look is really looking great if you wear different neon colors together, like green and yellow, and that if you don’t like neon too much, just try only one neon piece or a neon nail polish!

2. Will the styling tips you got at Stylish Saturday help you in your future fashion life?
At first, I didn’t like the neon trend so much but now I discovered slowly that this style is great to wear it during summer. I will definitely buy a pair of neon hot pants!
