They call us “serial shoppers”!

Hello girls,

Last season we had a journalist and a photographer from Edelweiss magazine with us in Paris to report on our job as fashion buyers. The magazine is out now and here are the photos!

Walking the streets of Paris, trying to answer emails in between appointments.

Decisions, decisions. Which shoes will sell best? How many? What colors?

“Or maybe I don’t buy them at all…” thinks Gabi.

Off to the next appointment where Nadja needs to find some great college-style blazers.

Examining the sample, she tells the designer what she wants altered so that it’s the perfect blazer for our G.POINT girls.

We always check out our favorite stores in the cities we visit, in Paris it’s Merci and Le66 Champs Elysées. Often, we find similar brands we picked for G.POINT.

A quick banana to keep us going!

Buying fashion is not only glamorous! We take the metro through Paris, the fastest way to travel!

Nadja is inspecting some cool jackets at the Tranoï show.

In the mornings, we write about new brands on our blog and tell you what’s going on at G.POINT.

This is our life! Hope you enjoyed the “behind the scenes” peak and see you soon at G.POINT!

A day in Paris…

Dear G.irls

Nadja and I spent a beautiful day in Paris with sunshine and wonderful clothes so we thought we’re gonna share some impressions of our day with you.

Enjoy!

The beautiful entry to the showroom we visited.

A cat greets us by the entrace.

Clothes in front of art.

Nadja selecting Current / Elliott jeans.

Tea, candles, flowers… Just wonderful.

The amazing SS13 collection.

Paris, we love you! A bientôt…

Have a wonderful Sunday evening – despite the horrible weather!

Chic Alors!

Let me introduce my newest jewelry crush: Chic Alors!

Héloise is a young woman from Paris who designs her own jewelry. With a bit of humor and lots of style, she creates bracelets in many colors, fit for any outfit. We hope you enjoy her interview and a few selected pictures of her great pieces.

Enjoy the lovely spring weather, girls!

xoxo Gabi

Gabi: How did you become a jewelry designer?
Héloise: I studied at an art school which taught me how to develop a sense for art, whatever the product might be. I was immediately attracted by jewelry, which allows me to live out my ideas, only restrained by a few technicalities. I started creating my first piece of jewelry by transforming little objects or antique toys that I used to bargain-hunt at flea markets. Then, from these self-adjusted jewelry I moved forward to create my own brand Chic Alors! with a more complete and accomplished collection entirely made in France. So in 2008, Chic Alors! was born!

Gabi: Where do you get your inspirations from?
H: My inspiration is continuous and often subconscious. Actually, my collection takes shape in my head step by stop every day simply by walking in the streets of Paris, by observing at people, girls and boys! Indeed, the masculine style and spirit often inspires me a lot. Therefore, the street is particularly inspiring for me. I also like to observe other disciplines outside fashion, like music videos, advertisements and graphic designs, which can give me some great ideas. The mixture of genres is an inspiring influence.

Gabi: What’s special about this Spring/Summer 2012 collection?
H: I wanted a collection which would be feminine but not girly, retro but modern at the same time, smart but also casual… My 2012 collection offers a lot of bracelets to be worn as accessories.

R: What are your favorite trends for this coming summer?
Fluorescent colors, mixture of materials and the combination of metal and textile.

R: What is your favorite piece out of the collection?
The Yo! bracelet in pink and green fluorescent colors. I like the street style of the script, the funky vibes of the colors and the stylishness of the golden metal and I think it’s neat to see a girl wearing that piece.
I Any last words for G.point?

Bon baiser de Paris!

We took lovely Melanie, our Confashion winner, to Paris this weekend where she could experience the life of a fashion buyer for two days!

Paris, here we come!

Dear G.irls,

Do you remember the winner of our confashion contest at the G.point store opening?

Melanie and the G.irls arrived in Paris, we just checked into our hotel rooms and now we are totally going to hit town!

Cya later,

the G.irls.

Arm Candy!

Another autumn week has just started and we G.irls want to bring some color and uniqueness into your bag-life! Stef-k bags are creations of Stéphanie Levert from Paris and exclusively produced in France. These bags are hand-painted and silk screened and luckily are printed in only small quantities! That means, not every other G.irl in town will be walking around the corner with the same bag as you! Nobody wants that, right!?

Enjoy and have a great week,

Sincerely yours, Recha.
