They call us “serial shoppers”!

Hello girls,

Last season we had a journalist and a photographer from Edelweiss magazine with us in Paris to report on our job as fashion buyers. The magazine is out now and here are the photos!

Walking the streets of Paris, trying to answer emails in between appointments.

Decisions, decisions. Which shoes will sell best? How many? What colors?

“Or maybe I don’t buy them at all…” thinks Gabi.

Off to the next appointment where Nadja needs to find some great college-style blazers.

Examining the sample, she tells the designer what she wants altered so that it’s the perfect blazer for our G.POINT girls.

We always check out our favorite stores in the cities we visit, in Paris it’s Merci and Le66 Champs Elysées. Often, we find similar brands we picked for G.POINT.

A quick banana to keep us going!

Buying fashion is not only glamorous! We take the metro through Paris, the fastest way to travel!

Nadja is inspecting some cool jackets at the Tranoï show.

In the mornings, we write about new brands on our blog and tell you what’s going on at G.POINT.

This is our life! Hope you enjoyed the “behind the scenes” peak and see you soon at G.POINT!

Stylish Saturday with Mily and Claudia

Special Edition with Mily Make-Up

Let us introduce Claudia! She is only 16 years old, from Wädenswil and our third and last Stylish Saturday Special Edition Girl. She is still going to school and therefore has tons of time to follow up on what’s happening in the fashion world. When she picked up friday, she couldn’t resist and did a little streetstyle shoot for us! We are very glad to have had the pleasure to style and photograph her exotic beauty.

Here she is:

Mily used her stick-on Simply Liners on Claudia in white! It goes really well with her skin tone and her almond shaped eyes. Together with the bright pink lipstick, her face looks stunningly beautiful! We actually can’t stop staring at this photo!

Her favorite piece from the shoot were the zebra pants. She loved them so much!

Claudia is wearing:
T-shirt – Sfr. 69
Pants – Sfr. 320
Wedge sneakers – Sfr. 265
Scarf – Sfr.130

At the end of the shoot with Lorenz, Claudia told us that she was very happy to have been chosen and wants to thank the whole G.point team for this great experience. She had a lot of fun and we can just reply: US TOO!

Nadia goes Neon!

in collaboration with

present

Let us introduce Nadia! Why does she look familiar? She has also been our we heart your style girl, last week! A true G.lover! Nadia, age 21, studies law at the University of Zürich, is also a jewelry designer (by nk designs) and a blogger. Certainly a busy girl!!!

Nadia was styled by G.point and got her hair, nails and make-up done by the PerfectHair.ch team! We dolled her up in funky NEON, a must have this summer!

A clutch no G.irl would ever return ;) !
Bag - Sfr.260

1. What inspired you last Saturday?
I learned that the neon look is really looking great if you wear different neon colors together, like green and yellow, and that if you don’t like neon too much, just try only one neon piece or a neon nail polish!

2. Will the styling tips you got at Stylish Saturday help you in your future fashion life?
At first, I didn’t like the neon trend so much but now I discovered slowly that this style is great to wear it during summer. I will definitely buy a pair of neon hot pants!

Las Vegas Baby!!!!!

Hey G.irls

We haven’t forgotten about you….we’ve just been stuck travelling for 20 hours to LAS VEGAS!!!!!

We are staying at the lovely and enourmous (like anything else here ;-) ) Wynn Hotel, which is right on the Strip! But for us, this trip is not about gambling. We are here for the MAGIC tradeshow and finding the most wicket things for G.point!!!

Before hitting the show, we couldn’t resist a big American breakfast. Believe us, we need the energy as we walk around for about 8 hours straight…!

We both have found amazing things. American Westcoast rocks…

We are already looking forward to next winter!!!!!!!

Look at these great, US-sized neckleses Gabi found for you… Just kidding… Nothing is ever too big for Vegas, is it?!

Today, we finish seeing the show, then we head back to the hotel to do a ton of orders and in the evening we’ll go and have a drink at THE HOTEL, the bar with the most beautiful views of the Strip.

And tomorrow, girls, we are off to Los Angeles!!!!!!!! We keep you posted!

Muah, muah

Your G.irls Gabi & Nadja.

Fashion report from Nadja

Buyer, Adventurer, Fashion Police

Give us a short fashion trend report on SS2012 please.
Lots of all kind of prints… lots of colour-blocking again, from vivid to pastel to fluorescent-means you’ve got to own a pink, a yellow and a green pant this season!:) Another trend that finally reached Europe is the Navaho- or Native print! Wake up the little Pocahontas in yourself ;) ! Of course you’ll find all that at G.point!

Who sets the fashion trends?
Various brands are actually designer inspired. Any designer attracting fame such as Louis Vuitton, Dolce&Gabbana, Isabel Marant etc. gets a great following and each time they come up with a new style, it automatically becomes the latest trend. And nowadays celebrities for example, tend to be the first ones to take up the new style and the mass follows that. Then, other brands that are more affordable to us, create a “cheaper” version of it and that is where Zara and many others come in!

What do you love about your job!?
That every day is different! I love the constant travelling, meeting new people, discover new brands, speak different languages, negotiate, pass an order and then be all excited when it gets to the store a few months later, observe the clients behaviour, analyse the sales. Of course it isn’t always “la vie en rose”… sometimes we buyers live sleepless nights… not knowing if a trend will come through or not, so we are praying that it will, so we sell these hundreds of pieces we have ordered ;) ! It is a kind of a responsibility, trust me!

Some of your favourite fashion labels this summer?
As for G.point I love the new multicoloured pullover Brand JUST IN CASE , the bicoloured Japanese Denim OGE & Co as well as super skinny pants from APRIL 77. To “hang out” for sure the sweats from FREE CITY!

Talking high-end fashion: PRADA, all 50’s cars –inspired and candy-coloured, was my favourite! Something totally fresh and new!

go back to the G.irls

A very very mean teaser

Hey G.irls!

I am about to do something very mean to you! I want to tell you about my latest “love at first sight” story…

I remember walking into the Studio Zeta showroom in Milano last summer to check out some new brands. As I was looking through their Spring/Summer 2012 collections, it happened – bam I fell in love! Bing Bang Boom! Love at first sight. It is called MSGM! The newest and hot irrestible brand I am about to bring to G.point for you G.irls!

Here comes a little teaser from the showroom that day:

It’s not only about unique style, cuts, colors, fabrics, originality, but also for their amazingly accessible prices!

After I’ve already passed the order I found out, that MSGM is acclaimed as on of the best discoveries amongst the new designers’ generation with numerous editorials in international magazines! So my intuition was totally right!

MSGM will be ready for you at G.point only by mid-January though – that’s the mean part of this post… But I promise you, it’s worth the patience G.irls. It’ll hit you the moment you walk into our store…!

Looking forward to fall in love? I bet!

Muah, your G.irl Nadja.
