At the Opening Party of G.point we had our special make-up artist Mily Serebrenik! She did an amazing job and has some secrets she wants to share with us today:
Recha: How did you come up with the idea of making stick-on make-up?
Mily: i’ll try to be short… The eye flashes were developed for a worldwide event to launch an alcohol brand in various night clubs in all the big cities on this planet. They needed something that would make the hostesses look amazing and that they could do themselves. The agency loved an image from my book, where the makeup was done with airbrush-technique. But this was simply impossible! So after meeting the agency I had a great idea! It was just the opposite air brush technique to create the look the wanted. From that day on, I started working on different shapes. Luckily this idea has not been realized. One year later “mily make up“ was registered and „mily eye flashes“ came to the market.
R: Can you give our G.irls any tips about how to use the eye-flashes?
M: sure I can!
Tip 1: If you are in a hurry, just pile up your lashes with thick blobs of mascara and cover the lash line with more mascara ( top and bottom).
Tip 2: Draw a line with kohl or a liner on your upper lid and fill in the lash line.
Tip 3: After sticking the flashes on, paint the entire lid with black eye shadow or with something flashy.
Tip 4: If you like playing with make-up do tip 1 + tip 2+ tip 3.
Tip 5: When you come back from partying just stick the flashes on to your mirror and I’m sure you’ll be able to wear them again!
R: What do you love most about working in the fashion business?
M: I love to work during fashion weeks when we see all the eccentric people wearing crazy clothes and the fashion icons exhibiting they’re favorite designers. It’s a big circus!
The Asian press and all the bloggers are hunting for trends and the models look like aliens going from one show to another. Madness !!
R: What do you appreciate about being a make-up artist?
M: I love creating dreams with makeup, staring and painting unusual faces and photography. As a makeup artist photography is anyways part of the job. So the only thing i have to say is that i love my job and beauty editorials are my passion!
Thank you Mily for this interview and we are looking forward to all your upcoming ideas!
