E.VIL T-shirts with attitude!

Now, some of you probably already know E.VIL T-shirts. We have been successfully working with E.VIL for two seasons. For the ones that haven’t heard of this super original and fun T-shirt brand, here you will find what you need to know. During the Fashion Week in New York I have visited the Flagship store and met the “artsy” and fun designer behind this label, Aimée David.

Nadja: Who is the E.VIL girl?
Aimée: It’s a woman of all ages that likes humour, ironie, sarcasm, drama and have sex appeal. It can be a young chick wanting to express rebelliously her “evil” side or a more mature woman that wears it under a blazer expressing herself in an ironic way. You can wear it descrete or loud. E.VIL is for somebody who knows themselves well from inside and outside and is not embarassed to express it with a T-shirt!

N: Where does your inspiration come from, all these words and phrases?
A: I get inspired from what is going on around me. Right now people are positive (or at least trying to be) everyone is looking for love, so I write about this. Recently I was at a wedding and on each table there were nicely printed popular love poems, this inspired me and I needed to put it on my tee’s. Or when i had a phase where i separated from my boyfriend. I started to go out, party, just felt free…I created a Tshirt with  “Little Miss Tramp” on it ;) !

N: What is the idea of E.VIL?
A: The concept started 13 years ago where everybody should have worn their “opposits” on the outside. I liked the idea of working with crystals, back then that was new and unseen. – and yes depending on colour we also work with Swarovski crystals!
To give you another example, back in the year when Jennifer Lopez was dating P.Diddy and they got involved in a club shooting and the whole press was focusing on them, Jennifer Lopez wore the E.VIL Tshirt “Little Miss Drama” to just actually ironically express what she thinks she actually isn’t!

N: Why the name E.VIL?l
A: Well it all started with the concept of you wearing your negative side on the outside – show or express your “evil” side : Drama Queen, Little Miss Tramp, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Terrified of Boredom. That is where the name comes from.
