Welcome to Coterie – New York’s biggest Tradeshow!

Back in September, Nadja and I hit the Coterie show to look at new trends for Spring/Summer 2012. Take a sneak peak at this huge tradeshow with us, where hundreds of labels showcase their latest collections.

First, we register in order to enter the show. Only buyers and press are allowed in.

At Coterie, I ordered jewellery and handbags from CC Skye, a label based in Los Angeles. CC Skye embraces true IT girl style with gleaming gold hardware and a fashion forward sensibility that has made her line a wardrobe staple for super stylists and today’s brightest stars.

At the CC Skye booth, I had the pleasure to meet CC, founder, owner and of course designer of CC Skye. She is a real sweetheart and the ultimate CC Skye girl, of course. She had a beautiful stand, showcasing her handbags and jewellery.

Gabi: “Tell us: Who is the CC Skye girl?”
CC: “The CC Skye girl is multi-dimensional, edgy but elegant, free-spirited but sophisticated and at the same time, very independent. She is the L.A. “it” girl.”

Gabi: “What was your inspiration for the SS12 collection?”
CC: “The gypset culture, a blend of gypsy and jetset lifestyle. I live in Malibu so I am surrounded by the sea, the beach, surfers, the sun, nature and the jetset crowd. My SS12 collection incorporates all these elements, reflecting that gypset life.”

Gabi: “How do you wear CC Skye?”
CC: “Layered, pile on multiple bracelets, mix silver and gold, wear multiple rings on one hand, and most important of all: Accessorize first, dress after!”
