We want to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at J Brand, a popular and famous jeans label, carried at Bongénie Grieder.
When in Los Angeles, Nadja, who buys J Brand jeans for the stores, was invited to visit Jeff Rudes, the founder and owner of J Brand at his offices and production factory in Los Angeles.

Jeff told us that he had a vision for J Brand, to create a jean that fit so perfectly it followed the contours of one’s body. A simple jean that would dress up a woman just enough so she could walk into any hip restaurant and people would notice her.

Jeff, the owner and founder of J Brand

We were in awe of Jeff’s beautiful office with lots of day light and inspiration in the air.
After that, Jeff gave us a tour of the beautiful J Brand offices and the production. Indeed, J Brand produces every pair of jeans in Los Angeles!!!

Jeff explaining Nadja the layout of his headquarter.

First, we went to see the design offices where Jeff’s designers try out new cuts, washes and materials. We were highly impressed and discovered a few very exciting new looks for summer 2013! That’s how far in advance they create collections so that they can be ready in time.
After seeing the design offices, we went to the sample room, where samples of all forms and shapes are tested and tried out.

Tons of fabrics and threads wait to be used and tested.

Last stop on our tour was the production. This was the most impressive step of the process. To see how 6000 pairs of jeans are produced in one single day! And all start off white before getting dyed a color.

A million white jeans wait to be dyed.

And after being dyed….

…the perfect J Brand jean, ready to be shipped to the stores!
Thank you, Jeff, for this very interesting and insightful tour of the world of J Brand and best of luck for the future!
